Excellent English Heritage site, well worth visiting. Quite extensive ruins dating back to about 1090. Dog friendly site and ample parking. You can also walk to the nearby castle ruins, and on the way you'll pass the Church of St James the Great - both well worth seeing if you are in the area. Friendly staff and very good guide book.

Visited the priory for a weekend stroll and a look at the remarkable ruins. If you want a good walk this is a fantastic area to walk around with plenty of wildlife to admire. In the wetter months I would advise suitable walking shoes.

Not sure how I missed this on my first trip to Castle Acre but glad I came back. A quite big priory, mostly ruin but still has the prior's house mostly intact. It was really good to see the remains of the garderobe over the (now dead) stream, you don't see that often. You also have a little museum and lots of lovely grounds to explore. It does have a car park, I don't think the English Heritage site mentions that, but it's only a 10 minute walk from Castle Acre Castle nearby (which has a small car park too).

Absolutely beautiful ruins. We took the audio guide and found it massively informative! The staff in the visitor centre/shop we're really friendly and helpful too.

Lovely kept ruins, make sure you visit the other parts of the huge site. My only concern is I was unable to climb the small stairs on my own and there are not pictures of the upstairs - a little disappointing.

A bit disappointed the Priors top room was locked. Apparently due to dust and a few tiles loose. It's a ruin so a bit of dust is to be expected??
